    CALISTOGA RANCH, CALIFORNIA (May 9, 2014) – Calistoga Ranch, an Auberge Resort in Napa Valley, has received a prestigious “World’s Top 100 Resorts” distinction from Robb Report, reinforcing the ecoluxury resort as one of “Earth’s most exclusive retreats” as highlighted in the May 2014 issue of the national luxury lifestyle magazine. Calistoga Ranch was most recently named to this discerning annual list in 2012..

    “We are honored to be named one of the world’s most exceptional 100 resorts by Robb Report, which sets the national agenda for what discerning travelers should see, experience and do now,” said Coni Thornburg, general manager of Calistoga Ranch, an Auberge Resort. “At Calistoga Ranch, we take great pride in celebrating our serene landscape, gracious people and authentic Napa Valley spirit, and we’re delighted to be applauded for offering a meaningful, luxury travel experience in America’s most celebrated wine country.”

    Calistoga Ranch is showcased as one of just five leading California resorts on the 2014 “World’s Top 100 Resorts” list and is recognized by the magazine’s editorial team for its hushed, wooded setting that harkens a vintner’s estate along with its roster of outstanding amenities including a wine label, spa with mineral soaking pools, and 50 cedar-shingled guest lodges where “nature takes a starring role.”

    Calistoga Ranch is nestled in a secluded valley on 157 wooded acres and features 50 cedar-shingled guest lodges, as well as a private lakefront restaurant called The Lakehouse that is helmed by newly-appointed Executive Chef Aaron Meneghelli, a wine cave and vineyard consisting of two acres of Cabernet grapes, the thermal spring-fed Auberge Spa at Calistoga Ranch, a heated outdoor pool and new family pool, miles of hiking trails, and a fitness center. The resort’s eco-conscious design comes to life in the luxurious guest lodges that preserve the integrity and beauty of the valley’s ancient oak trees, redwoods and Lake Lommel by offering free-standing rooms connected by decks, trellised walkways and expansive outdoor living areas built around existing trees. Authentic programming revolves around unique elements including honeybee colonies, a secret garden and greenhouse, a new chicken coop complete with a crystal chandelier and a cabernet vineyard. Introduced in summer 2013, Calistoga Ranch’s Food of Place program is a monthly series of seasonal food and wine experiences that offer an insider’s peek into the best of Napa Valley’s food and wine culture as guests prepare culinary creations with the resort’s experts including Executive Chef Aaron Meneghelli.

    Calistoga Ranch Introduces In-Room iPad Capabilities for Guests

    Award-Winning Napa Valley Resort Unveils Latest Addition to Amenities

    CALISTOGA RANCH, CALIFORNIA (March 11, 2013) – Calistoga Ranch, An Auberge Resort, in Napa Valley, announced today that the resort has integrated iPads into each of the 48 guest lodges and 23 residence lodges on property. The streamlined, clean and elegant interface, designed by New York-based software company Incentient, easily allows guests and owners a range of on- and off- property functionalities. Capabilities include pre-ordering room service, shopping for spa products, arranging dining reservations, scheduling wake-up calls, sending e-post-cards and much more, without ever having to pick up the phone or leave the comfort of the lodge.

    “After much thought and testing, we are very excited to present our guests with this new technology,” said Coni Thornburg, general manager of Calistoga Ranch, an Auberge Resort. “As a member of Auberge Resorts, Calistoga Ranch is equally committed to outstanding, innovative service and sustainable amenities, and this iPad technology proves the property is a leader in both areas. While we know nothing can take the place of the personal attention and service our staff offers, we recognize the need for guest convenience, which the iPad technology offers.”

    Incentient created a consistent iPad platform across all Auberge Resorts properties. However, only the iPads at Calistoga Ranch allow guests to explore local wineries and vineyards, or peruse photo tours of the property’s residence lodges. The smart-touch system is also highly beneficial for groups in-house, as messaging can be tailored to communicate selectively to individual guests with meetings and eventrelated updates.

    The new system has reduced in-room dining service menu compendiums and door hangers, as well as newspaper delivery for guests who prefer to receive them via the iPad. Additionally, guests of Calistoga Ranch’s restaurant, The Lakehouse, enjoy the benefits of Incentient Smartcellar, an application that allows the wine and beverage lists to be viewed from iPads at the dining table.

    Hourglass is an ultra premium Napa Valley winery that has produced limited quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon from its flagship 4 acre Lodi Lane vineyard since 1990. In 2006, after a lengthy search for a second vineyard worthy of the Hourglass name, Jeff and Carolyn Smith purchased a world class site located directly adjacent to Calistoga Ranch. With the purchase of the Blueline Vineyard, Hourglass has now evolved into two vineyard designated estate wines: Calistoga Ranch  the Hourglass Vineyard and the Hourglass Blueline Vineyard.  In addition to the original Cabernet Sauvignon, Hourglass now produces Cabernet Franc and Merlot. As with the wine from the original Hourglass Vineyard, the Blueline Vineyard production is under the direction of noted winemaker Bob Foley, renowned for crafting critically acclaimed estate wines for Robert Foley Vineyards, Switchback Ridge, Paloma and Pride Mountain.

    The Winemaker for a Weekend is just another step towards making Calistoga Ranch a true winemaking community and gives guests the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and learn every stage of the process from vine to bottle. Other wine related programs at the resort include parties hosted on property by revered local winemakers and invitations to their own homes and wineries. The wine cave also serves as a perfect venue to host year round wine themed parties, meetings and weddings.  Collectively, these experiences offer the Calistoga Ranch guest the unique opportunity for a deeper connection to Napa Valley and personal insight into the art of winemaking.

    The Bathhouse at Calistoga Ranch Reinterprets Calistoga’s Classic Spa Tradition

    Spa Offers Spring Water Therapies And Innovative Healing Treatments In A Luxuriously Rustic Setting

    CALISTOGA RANCH, CALIFORNIA (April 15, 2006) – “To float in mineral water that has gushed out of the ground is to be in intimate contact with the earth itself,” said a writer who visited the famed Calistoga Baths in Napa Valley many years ago. Taking the writer’s words to heart, Auberge Resorts opened a modern-day haven that captures the very essence of Calistoga with the creation of The Bathhouse, the spa centerpiece of Calistoga Ranch resort.

    “When we designed The Bathhouse at Calistoga, we tried to respond to the place where the spa is,” said Tracy Herk, Director of Spa Development at Auberge Resorts. “We wanted to use rustic and native elements to create a spa that complemented and enhanced The Bathhouse’s Calistoga location and the resort itself.”

    Situated on the banks of the spring-fed Lake Lommel, The Bathhouse showcases the natural beauty of the resort’s secluded canyon setting amid the Mayacama Mountains. Guests drink in views of the lake as they relax between treatments in a tranquility garden warmed, in the cooler months, by outdoor fireplaces.

    Designed to pay tribute to Calistoga’s centuries-old legacy as a site for healing mineral waters, The Bathhouse features five private treatment cabins, each with a private garden, outdoor shower and a soaking tub. There is also a Healing Waters Soaking pool filled with mineral-rich curative waters tapped from the property’s own natural springs.

    The Bathhouse treatments incorporate local Napa Valley ingredients, such as honey, wildflowers and grape seeds, to create a natural healing experience. The spa’s signature treatment, the Calistoga Cure, is a five-step therapy that will include an exfoliation with a mineral salt body scrub, a private outdoor mineral mud or immersion bath mud bath, a linen wrap, a balancing polarity session, and a full-body massage. Other signature treatments include:

    • Calistoga Ranch Mud Wrap – a eucalyptus mud body wrap using local volcanic mud and followed by a bay laurel massage to help boost immunity and soothe muscles;
    • Polarity Therapy – energy-point therapy to relieve stress and balance energy;
    • Oat and Brown Sugar Body Scrub – an oat and brown sugar body scrub followed by a buttermilk bath and walnut oil massage;
